Primary School

The Primary education programme begins at Foundation and extends to Year 6 (typically for students aged from 4 to 11 years).

While most subjects (English, Mathematics, Science, Computing and Religious Education etc) are taught by the class teachers, specialist teachers come in for some lessons (such as Music, Physical Education, Art etc). Specialist teaching can be provided in the area of ESL/EAL (English as a Second Language / English as an Additional Language) where required.

Students study an international curriculum but with plenty of input to reflect the history, geography and culture of Myanmar and the surrounding region, as well as some topics which pick up on the international mix of students and staff. Regular testing and reporting take place to monitor and inform parents of student progress using internationally recognised testing.

Support staff are available to students with particular educational needs, including students for whom English is a second, additional or foreign language, and consideration will be given to supporting the educational and cultural settings from which our international students are drawn.
